MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN: Jean Selby, Head of Ringcraft
Family & close friends have let us know that Jean sadly passed away on Monday 11th April at Warwick Hospital after a short stay.
Jean was a very valued member of the Club for many reasons, not only as our longest serving and Honorary Member but also for her wonderful love of all dogs, and her kindness and consideration to everyone she met; always helpful and considerate to members old and new, and so hardworking and knowledgeable in her field of expertise.
Her commitment to the Club was second to none; Jean even held all the Offices of the Club at various times during her many years of service.
We shall truly miss her warmth, her generosity and her grace, her friendship and her beautiful smile.
Jean was a very special lady indeed and it was a privilege to have known her. She will be greatly missed by us all.
The Club extends our deepest sympathies and condolences to Jean’s family at this time.
For those that knew Jean, her funeral will be on Friday 6th May at North Hall Oakley Woods at 3pm.
The family hope that those that are able, will join in celebrating Jean’s life.

*RINGCRAFT NEWS* IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT*
Message from Section Head Jean Selby:
"The Ringcraft Section are happy to offer a limited number of Training Sessions from THURSDAY 27th May.
These will be held temporarily in the paddocks of the KC Building, Stoneleigh, and split into two sessions: Session 1 from 1900-2000hrs & Session 2 from 2000-2100hrs.
All sessions will be held under strict COVID guidelines.
All dogs must be vaccinated, new/renewed memberships will be required as well as your new class fees.
Due to covid rules and regs there will be changes made to the way bookings and payments are taken, but hopefully as situations change, things will become easier.
Spaces are limited, so to book your place please ring Jean on 01926 886828 (NOT after 2000hrs).
The above arrangements may not suit everyone, but please remember we are all working towards the same end.
PLEASE NOTE that due to ongoing covid restrictions, and until further notice; training spaces are strictly limited and handlers can only attend if they have a pre-booked confirmed place. 'Walk-ins' cannot be allowed.
*OBEDIENCE NEWS* IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT*
Update for the gentle return of obedience classes:
Initially we hope to be starting with 2 classes at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm.
They will be in the outside paddocks, regardless of the weather, as we are still waiting to hear if we can have the required access to the building.
In order to keep safe distancing and manage everyone’s expectations:
1. Classes will be limited to 5 handlers and 1 trainer.
2. Classes will be 45 minutes long, and after class handlers may talk to their trainer, but will need to have left the training area, so the next class can arrive.
3. Courses will be 6 weeks long.
If you have a fully vaccinated dog, aged between 3 - 12 months, and are available to train at one of the above times from Wednesday 26th May, please TEXT the club phone on 07722 006461 with your email address to express an interest in one of our forthcoming courses.
Please include your email address for a response and to enable us to send you a booking form.
No calls please, as these will not be answered.
Please understand that this is a piloted return, with a small number, in scheduled classes.
We hope to expand availability during the summer, to cater for a wider range of ages and ability, for both members old and new.
As we expect high interest in the resumption of training, if we cannot offer you a place on the first course , then one will be offered on a future course.
We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you again as our training resumes, however PLEASE NOTE that due to the ever changing COVID restrictions & government regulations, various site protocols will be in place and we must request that you only attend if you have a confirmed fully paid up pre-booked place.
Many thanks and best wishes all.
**IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT & AGILITY NEWS - MONDAY 4TH JANUARY 2021**
Postponement of planned restart to Agility Classes at Shrewley
In light of the current government COVID-19 Tier restrictions affecting our area, venue considerations and KC advice for training clubs; the decision has been made to suspend the planned restart of Agility training ( previously due to take place in early January) until further notice.
This announcement applies to those members currently enrolled on the fully paid up courses which were postponed due to the second national lockdown back in November 2020. Please be assured that your places and fees remain in credit and as soon as we are able to resume any form of training you will be notified of a restart date for your course booking.
Whilst this is disappointing news to all involved we trust that this decision is understood in the circumstances. Please continue to monitor our social media and website for updates on club news as soon as we are able to provide any relevant updates.
Hoping you all had the best possible Christmas and festive season and are keeping safe and well. Wishing you all a Happy New Year and a kinder 2021 for everybody.
All training across our other LDTC sections: Obedience, Ringcraft, Scentwork and Working Trials also remain suspended due to the prevalence of the virus, venue considerations and the current & continuing government restrictions - Please continue to monitor our social media and website for updates on club news as soon as we are able to provide any relevant updates for you
***AGILITY IMPORTANT COVID UPDATE - SATURDAY 7TH NOVEMBER***
LDTC Agility training at the RDA Shrewley is temporarily suspended following the latest government announcements and the restrictions imposed by the second national lockdown which came into effect on Thursday 5th November.
Due to the prevalence of virus and the knock on effect the latest lockdown will have on course planning over the December period,
Agility Classes will now resume in the New Year, hopefully from 5th January 2021. (Further confirmation will be sent out nearer the time as this is a provisional date only and subject to the prevalence of the virus and relevant government guidance and restrictions at the time).
Training activities across LDTC Obedience, Ringcraft, Scentwork and Working Trials also remain suspended until further notice due to the pandemic and the various restrictions imposed.
Please monitor our website and social media for any further updates.
Those members currently training on the prepaid Agility courses, (numbers strictly limited due to previous COVID-19 restrictions) will be contacted individually ahead of the resumption of their classes.
These are difficult times and we thank you all for your patience and understanding. Stay safe everyone and hope to see you on the other side.

We are hoping to be in a position to make a further announcement over the course of the next few days on our website and social media with a new start date. We will also confirm this date to those already successful in their applications for the limited places advertised: (please see our post dated 8th September) Successful applicants will be sent an e-mail together with our COVID-19 updated information pack and instructions for enrolment.
